John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.  After graduating from university he trained in accounting and audit with a medium-sized London firm.  On qualification he decided to specialize in taxation and spent the next 10 years working in corporate and international tax in mainly international accounting firms.  He was offered the opportunity to join a major UK multinational as a senior manager in its growing in-house tax department and spent a number of years advising first the international and then the UK businesses on tax issues.  In 2001 he became Head of Group Tax leading a team of over 30 people located in the UK and US.  After six very successful years John was offered the chance to get some operational finance experience before moving back to tax to seize the opportunity to set up his own tax advisory business. His clients now benefit from his extensive business tax experience gained over many years both in industry and the profession.
